: Starbucks Oracle
Here's what the Starbucks Oracle said when I entered my drink of choice: Grande Sugar-Free Vanille Soy Latte. Behold the Oracle's wisdom: Personality type: Hippie In addition to being a hippie, you are a hypochondriac health nut. You secretly think that your insistence on only consuming all-natural products is because you're so intelligent and well-informed; it's actually because you're a sucker. You've dabbled in Wicca or other pseudo-religions that attract morons and have changed your sexual orientation a few times this year. You probably live in California. Everyone who drinks Grande Sugar Free Vanille Soy Latte should be forced to eat a McDonald's bacon cheeseburger. Also drinks: Beverages with lots of marketing that says they're herbal and organic Can also be found at: Whole Foods, indoor rock climbing facilities Get told at: http://www.buttafly.com/starbucks/i Current Mood:

: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I read the new Harry Potter book today. I was very happy with it. Harry didn't die (thank God) and there was a semi-happy ending. I was surprised at all of the characters that were killed (I'd heard only 2 people were killed). I was so relieved that Snape was on Harry;s side all along. The entire chapter devoted to him was wonderful; his love of Lily, his devotion to Dumbledore, his reluctance to kill him. And I loved the line in the epilogue when Harry told his son Severus was one of the bravest men I ever met. Finally, the man gets the recognition he deserves. Things I wish she has closured: what happened to Lucius after the war, does Snape have any family/children, what about the Dursleys, and the burials of the dead. Oh well, I guess that will have to wait for fanfic. Current Mood:

: Update
I really need to post in my journal more often. It seems like I am always on facebook or myspace now. Well - I have been looking for a new teaching job in Chicago and in the suburbs. I still have a job to fall back on if I don't find anything but I would LOVE to teach in the city. I got a new car. Its a black Scion xB and I love it! I just bought an iPod last night but I am still trying to figure out how to put music on it. It is hot pink and so cute! Tonight I am going clubbing in Chicago for Brigid's bday, so I am super excited about that. I am thrilled that the last Harry Potter book is being released in less than 40 days! I still say Snape is good. How are you all doing? Current Mood:

: Kabari's party
On Saturday night I went to my friend Kabari's party in Chicago with Christopher. Before the party we had dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant called Rose Angeli's. The party was super fun and we went to bar and danced like mad. Here is a pic of us at the restraunt (notice my fabulous makeup!): On Sunday he came over for a Father's Day cookout and he got me a Pebble phone (he works for Motorola). It is so cute and he put a purple background on it because he knows I like purple. Current Mood:

: Saturday Night
On Saturday night Christopher met my parents. It went very well. He ate dinner with us and he bought an Italian soup he made himself for an appetizer. It was very good and my mom was super impressed. He even made sure it was lactose free and he used vegetable broth! My mom said, "He is so attentive." My dad said that he has a good jon (he is a software engineer). After dinner we played Catchphrase and then Christopher and I watched Napoleon Dynamite. Then we watched The Sopranos. My sister and Nick hung out with us for a while and they really liked Christopher. Before he left he told me that when my sister introduced him as my boyfriend, that made him feel really happy. Squee:) Current Mood:

: Friday Night
On Friday night I went to Christopher's apartment and he made me dinner. He made a vegetarian dinner and he bought all organic ingredients from Whole Foods because he knows I like organic food. He was so sweet and he made sure everything was lactose free. He even had red wine! His apartment was very nice. He keeps it very neat and he has some bonsai trees and very nice photographs because he is into photography. After dinner we watched "Signs". I was kind of worried that he would expect something because guys are weird, but he was a perfect gentleman and he only put his arm around me for the movie. We kissed when I left and he made sure I knew how to get home. Then, on Saturday, he called me and he said I was beautiful on Friday night and he forgot to tell em because he was so nervous. How cute is that? Squee! I think he might meet my parents next weekend. He is just a great guy:) Current Mood:

: Chicago
On Monday I went to Chicago with my boyfriend Christopher. We went to the Art Institute, then we ate a late lunch at Cosi Cosi, a little artsy restaurant, then we walked around Millnium Park and we saw the bean. We also walked around Michigan Ave. and we went to Water Tower Place but Sephora was closed! How dare they! Christopher is so cute. He opened all the doors and he paid for everything and he is so sweet. We kissed when the taxi dropped me off for the train SQUEE! Current Mood:

: DaVinci Code
I saw the DaVinci Code last night. I thought it was really good, I don't know why it got such bad reviews. It did seem a little long but that was the only negative thing about it. I'm sure I'll see it again because I am such a huge dork. Current Mood:

: Long Overdue Update
Wow, I haven't updated in forever. I go on lj all the time but I always forget to post. So what's new? ~My job is going very well. My school is year-round but it is very laid back in the summer (we don't have to write lesson plans, we can wear casual clothes, etc.) so I am excited about that. ~My sister is home from college:) ~I am seeing a guy! His name is Christopher and he lives in Arlington Heights and he is very nice and so cute! ~I am psyched for the DaVinci Code movie. Woohoo! That's it for now. I will be sure to update more often from now on. Current Mood:

: V for Vendetta
I saw V for Vendetta last night with my friend Carolyn. I thought it was excellent. The acting was very good, the British accents were sexy, and (of course) Natalie Portman was fabulous. I thought the movie came out at a very good time because it describes the government oppressing and killing "undesirables": gay people, Muslims, immigrants, etc. In many of the reviews people said that the movie was pro-terrorist but I thought of it as more of how a terrorist is created, and how a person can come to the conclusion that extreme violence is the only way to do what you think needs to be done. It showed people being tortured, killed, and their basic rights being taken away. It also showed the paranoia of the government and the government's desire to make people afraid. The leader reminded me of Bush. Not his appearance, but how he is described: a conservative Christian who uses his followers to take over the government and take freedoms away from the common people. Very appropriate and kind of scary. The action scenes were all really great, but I didn't like all the blood. Natalie Portman was just gorgeous. It makes me sick that even after she has her hair shaved off and is tortured, she still is beautiful and has great cheekbones. Some girls just have all the luck. Current Mood:

: Sick Week!
I was sick all this week with the flu. So gross. When I went to the doctor she said that there is a really bad flu going around and people are sick for at least a week with it. I am finally feeling better. I feel like such a bum. So, what did I do during my week of illness? Of course, I watched Brokeback Mountain everyday! I watched Gladiator, Napoleon Dynamite, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the West Wing. And, I checked my email - a lot! I can't wait to go back to work on Monday and actually feel productive. : ISU Weekend
This weekend was awesome! I had so much fun. My friend Angie and I drove down Friday night. We were all really tired on Friday night because we didn't get to ISU til almost 10pm so we just went swimming in the hotel pool and we ordered in food and played MarioKart. On Saturday we went shopping. I bought Michael Buble's new cd. I also bought an ISU sticker for my car. We walked around campus and I saw I lot of people I know. We ate dinner with Kristin at Carlos O'Kelly's and I had a margarita. Then we went to the bar. We went to Fat Jack's, which is our favorite bar. I drank a lot. I had two cosmos, a shot of rum, a shot of tequila, and a shot of everclear. I was so drunk but it wasn't sick drunk, it was hilarious drunk. We danced a lot and flirted and generally made fools of ourselves. We got back to the hotel at 3am and we ordered pizza and played more drunken MarioKart. Fun times! Current Mood:

I am home sick with Bronchitis. I've been home sick since Monday. I felt fine this weekend and then on Sunday I started feeling terrible so I went to the doctor on Monday and got prescriptions. : Fun day!
Yesterday was a lot of fun. I went to the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall in Aurora with my mom and sister. I bought a pair of shoes at Target, a spring jacket at Gap, and a pair of shoes at Banana Republic. That mall is awesome! They have a Coach Factory Store with purses half the price they would be a Fields. They also have Dooney and Bourke, Guess, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, BCBG, and tons of other designer stores. I could spend all day there. Last night I went out with my friends for Current Mood:

: Oscars
So last night was almost the night from Hell. My Mom and I were having our Oscar party, drinking wine and eating pizza and watching the pre-show. Then, at 6:30 we turn on ABC and it will not come on, there is a problem with the satellite. So we are flipping out and mu Mom calls the satellite company and they say there is heavy cloud cover that is blocking the satellite. What BS! So we had to call up my Grandpa and ask if we could watch his tv since he has cable. Then - Brokeback Mountain doesn't win Best Picture! What! Stupid Crash was not that good! BBM was so much better! Stupid goddamn fucks! ~deep breath~ But, at least I got to see adorable Jake:) and the funny tent scene with Billy Crystal and Eddie Murphy and the hilarious montage of "not gay" cowboy movies. "Show me your Winchester" and "This room isn't big enough for me to say goodbye" Ha! And I loved Ang Lee's acceptance speech, so beautiful. And, Jessica Alba took applied lip gloss while the camera was on her and I screamed "that's Dior, I have that lip gloss" and they asked her what kind of lip gloss she used and she said "Christian Dior". Oh yeah, I wear the makeup of the stars. ~~~ Today my Mom and I went to the Field Museum to see the Auschwitz exhibit. It was very powerful. We actually got in for free because it was free general admission. I also bought my godson a stuffed dinosaur. Then we went to Fields where I salivated over makeup and bought a Sak purse. The we went to The Body Shop and I bought some Tea Tree Oil face products. It was a very fun day. Current Mood:

: Three Day Weekend!
I saw Brokeback Mountain AGAIN on Friday night with Today I went to Oak Brook. I went to Sephora and I bought Benefit's Bad Gal Lash Mascara and Nars Orgasm lip gloss. I have been pining after that lip gloss for ever and it was actually in! I love it, it is fabulous. I am a little wary of the mascara thought because the wand is huge. But, Tomorrow night my mom and I are having an Oscar party. We took off work on Monday so we can drink A LOT. On Monday we are going to the Field Museum to see the Auschwitz exhibit and to do some shopping down town. Current Mood:
